Disaster recovery companies use dry ice blasting to:

  • remove soot and smoke damage;
  • restore a clean appearance;
  • reduce business interruption costs;
  • restore normal business operations more quickly

Soot and smoke damage can easily be removed from most surfaces using CO2 blast cleaning. Though it is sometimes used in residences, it is more often used in factory settings where there is a great need to return to normal operations as quickly as possible.

When cleanup is attempted with water or soda blasting, equipment must usually be disassembled and moved out of the way because of the mess that inevitably results. This can be time-consuming and sometimes damage occurs during transport, further delaying the return to normal operations. Because dry ice disappears on contact with the targeted surface, CO2 blasting can be used without the need to move nearby equipment or furniture. This means the job is generally completed much more quickly, which pleases both the business owner and the insurance company.
